Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which will be provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your responsibilities associated with the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle with Jarrow:

• To hire a vehicle from Jarrow, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age limits may vary based on vehicle type. A valid full driving licence, appropriate for the chosen vehicle and held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement, is required. Customers must present valid identification and proof of current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.

3. Reservations and Payments

• Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. The total payment and security deposit are usually collected upon vehicle pickup. All pricing is displayed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.

Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

• At the time of vehicle collection, please conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and must be signed by both parties. It is important to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level that it had when picked up; refueling fees will apply if the tank is not full. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic infractions, or other charges incurred during the rental, along with an administration fee.

Insurance and Liability Terms

• All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts are outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability, and we encourage you to review these thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.

6. Cancellations and Modifications

Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.

7. Restricted Activities

Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle

• The vehicle may not be used for any unlawful purposes. Activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is against policy. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle must be used in accordance with its intended purposes, and passenger or weight limits must not be exceeded. Operating the vehicle outside of designated geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.

Liability Limitations

To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Jarrow Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

9. Applicable Law

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

10. Terms Updates

We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Updates take effect as soon as they are published on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
